Process

Architecture, at its heart, evokes emotions in its recipient which are unique and difficult to describe. With its form, material and play of light, it conjures up a certain atmosphere and mood. It is these evocations and sensibilities that are the starting point for our design process.

Sketch

Intuitive flashes of insight; the free exploration of form in the local context; an initial analysis of viewpoints in the immediate vicinity of the site, and from more distant perspectives - performed with the simplest of techniques, with a pen, stylus or as a collage. All these serve as jumping-off points for subsequent work on the project.

Model

The process of building a model is a synthesis of further design searches. There is an enjoyment to be derived from the playful sensing of the interrelatedness of solids in real space. This phase is not concerned with presenting the final form of the structure but with endeavouring to capture a composition that responds sympathetically to the design idea.

Scalar drawings

These plans refer to the formal and spatial conditions of the specific location, the dimensions of the plot, the terrain, the neighbourhood and the context. The sections of the buildings illustrate the most important spatial relationships.

Rendering

Modern CAD technologies enable us to create a visual impression of an object in its surroundings while VR allows us to saunter around the building, inside and out.
